Shouldn't laugh but....... [Oct. 3rd, 2006|03:26 pm]
[mood |coldcold]
[music |Akon - Trouble]

Damn, talk about unlucky:

Michael Mosey's life was so full of misfortune that the local media dubbed him "Scotland's Unluckiest Man."
The former engineer fell out of bed, into a pond, off a horse and through a glass coffee table. He fractured his ankle and his back, and once broke his right leg by tripping over a puppy. He even ended up partially blinded after drinking a shot of black market vodka.

Michael was married to an equally woman. Frances Mosey once broke both of her legs when she tumbled into a6-foot hole in the road that lacked any warning signs. She purchased motorcycle and fell off of it on her first ride, breaking her shoulder blade. While recovering from a hernia operation, the former telephone operator suffered a fractured skull when a ceiling tile fell on her head. She allegedly died on the operating table during routine procedures in 1963 and 1996, yet was revived both times. Her most unfortunate experience, however, occurred when she accidentally cut her finger off while making dinner. Doctors were unable to reattach it because her dog ate the digit.

The Moseys of Forth, Lanarkshire, experienced approximately accidents and were hospitalized more than 20 times. Ironically, Mr. and Mrs. Havelock met while volunteering as motorcycle couriers, transporting blood to area hospitals. The couple wed on Valentine's Day in 1974 and was enjoying a honeymoon in Spain when their hotel room collapsed. Years later, Michael was out riding a newly purchased motorcycle; Frances accidentally hit him with her car.

Their unlucky state of affairs was so pronounced, and caused so many health problems, that they became unable to work and officially registered as disabled. When asked why their luck was so bad, Michael blamed his wife.
"Since I met Frances, I have broken my ankle and my back. I have fallen from a horse, out of bed, down stairs; into ponds ... you name it. The telephone table has been rebuilt three times after me falling on it. And I have somehow managed to fall through the greenhouse three times," Michael once said.

In 2003, the couple separated. An attempted reconciliation turned violent and Michael was charged with allegedly assaulting Frances with a rolling pin, violently shaking her and resisting arrest. During the trial, he was also charged with driving in the court parking lot during a lunch recess without insurance and without a valid driver's license. The judge refused to grant him bail. Then, while awaiting transport to Barlinnie Prison, Michael collapsed and had a stroke. The domestic violence charge was eventually dropped. Three months later, after receiving probation for the other charges, Michael was again hospitalised for severe chest pains.

Michael Mosey, 57, died on Aug. 22 when his life support was switched off. He'd been hospitalized for several days after suffering serious injuries during a disturbance at his home.

Advertising the new season of Sopranos on E4.

Hadn't seen this until I watched a 2 week old episode of Scrubs and there it was. Of course, I knew I could rely on YouTube :0)

Biggish image behind cutCollapse )

Don't know how I've done - there were about 11 others there. One was a beautiful carousel horse. Will find out in about 1 hour. Will update the result. Took along one of mother-in-law's knitted dolls and entered it for her. She doesn't think it's very good. I'll take a photo later and you judge. I think they are amazing. Very professionally done - you can't see the stitching or anything. I've seen knitted dolls in craft shops that don't look this good. Hope she gets somewhere :0)

Playing: Luigi's Mansion, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker on my GameCube.
Majora is as frustrating as ever. I'm still trying to get into the Deku palace. I nearly made it and then the screen did that thing where it shrinks and becomes night of the 1st day. I fell off the platform and got thrown out :0(
Luigi is fun but my vacuum finger hurts...lol I'm on level 3 I think.
Wind Waker I've only just got as far as trying the first job on the ship - jumping to the platform and then to the rope. I fall of when trying to get to the second rope.

As for the other games that came with my GameCubes - did I say I bought 2 just to get the games? lol

Mario Double Dash - is okay but it's more for Bryan than for me. (this came with a disc that contained Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask and one of the early Link for SNES)
Wave Rider - again more for Bryan than for me
Jedi Outcast - selling on Ebay as I just don't like fighting games. Plus, for some reason this one makes me feel sick.
Mario Party 5 - selling on Ebay. I hated this game on the N64 and this version is no different.
Crazy Taxi (got 2 of this one!) - selling on Ebay. It's crap. Nuff said.
Starfox Adventures - selling on Ebay. Not my type of thing.
Worms 3D - selling on Ebay. Cute but, again, not my thing.
Super Smash Brothers Melee - selling on Ebay. Fighting. Not my thing.

One of the cubes came with 3 clip on fascia - selling on Ebay....lol

Oh and the song stuck in my head? I'd like to thank tru2myart as I had a quick skim over the entry of 'bad songs' and that one got stuck. It's gonna be there all day but it's still better than the piece of music from Majora's mask when link is dancing with the Rosa sisters...lol He just looks creepy and pervy.

:: Neopets :: [Aug. 30th, 2006|02:35 pm]
Just showing off my babies :0)

Only the red Shoyru and blue Bori are potential adoptees - they are still being zapped until they get all prettified. Although, I'm thinking the Darigan Cybunny may get a zap or two. I love Cybunnies but the Darigan just looks badly drawn.

If you use Firefox and watch YouTube or Google Video, Ook? Video Ook! allows you to download the video. Then FLV Player lets you play it.

Question.... [Aug. 27th, 2006|08:26 pm]
I have a Dell Axim X51V with a 2GB SD storage card.
I have a couple of video clips I want to store on there. One is 3M and one is 4MB.
There is nothing else on the card.
For some reason the 3MB won't show up or play on the Dell although the 4MB will.
They are both the same format.

Anyone have any ideas?
It's not vitally important that they go on there - in fact it was only a spur of the moment thing. Now, though, it's really bugging me and has become a mission to find out what the heck is going on.

Bored...... [Aug. 27th, 2006|08:19 pm]
Forgot to mention this on Thursday but it was my wedding anniversary :0) 21 years married. We were courting (old fashioned phrase, or so I've been told) for 2 years before we wed. Certainly doesn't feel like that long and I can still remember my wedding day as if it only happened yesterday.

Healthwise all is still going okay - still trying to lose weight. I lost a little over half a stone in the first week and nothing last week. The good thing is that no weight went on. Here's hoping next week sees some reduction.

Diet is mainly pasta and homemade sauce for lunch followed by salad for evening meal. Homemade sauce consists of 2 tins of tomatoes and a tin of ratatouille. Blitzed with whatever herbs and spices I chuck in the bowl. Nuked in microwave and added to pasta, this make a very acceptable low-fat pasta sauce. Don't think there should be quite that much heat though...lol *note to self - half the amount of chilli powder should do*

Side note, does anyone have anything by The Eels? I heard "I just can't sleep" recently and would like to hear more of their stuff.

Bank Holiday tomorrow - so weather is bound to be wet and windy :0) Ideal time for going to the coast. Sadly, holiday makers seem to think so too. So, we'll wait until later in the week. Nearest place is Aberaeron - roughly 30 mins away.

Can't wait for post to arrive on Tuesday. It should be bringing with it my 'new' (to me) Gamecube and a couple more J D Robb novels.

Finished Reading: Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. This book rocked!

Console update..... [Aug. 22nd, 2006|07:00 pm]
Thanks to everyone who replied. I decided to go with the Gamecube. I couldn't justify the cost of a PS2 for just the 2 games - going to look into finding emulators for them. PS2 prices on Ebay varied but they were upwards of £80.

So, the Gamecube cost me £52.00. It's purple. I like purple :0)

Purple Nintendo Gamecube with 1 purple controller and 1 black controller
1 memory card
6 games:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
Crazy Taxi
Star Wars: JediOutcast
Worms 3D
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Starfox Adventures.

So that's Zelda for me, Mario Kart for hubby and I'll probably chuck the rest of them up on Ebay after I've played them once.
